Article 3: Compensation

Hourly Base and Hourly Incentive Rates of Pay:

  • All AA employees received 1.5% step increase each year from 2003 - 2008, no increases in 2009 or 2010.

Purser Pay:

  • Dom wide-body: $2.08/hour
  • Int'l narrow-body: $2.00/hour
  • Int'l wide-body:
    $3.00/hour

Hourly Base and Hourly Incentive Rates of Pay:

  • Signing Bonus - 3% previous calendar year earnings (non pensionable)
  • DOS (Date of Signing) - 2% structural
  • DOS + 12 months - 2% structural
  • DOS + 24 months - 2% structural
  • DOS + 36 months - 2% structural
  • DOS + 48 months - 1.5% structural

Purser Pay:

  • Dom wide-body: $2.50/hour
  • Int'l narrow-body: $2.50/hour
  • Int'l wide-body: $4.00/hour

Training Pay:

  • Pay All Training: $9.50/hour including Recurrent Training, Computer-Based Training and Recall Training for those currently on the furlough list. New hire and LOA Training would be excluded.
  • Pay Customer Service Training: $20.00/ hour (new)
  • Pay for actual training time only - eliminate current three (3) hour minimum
  • In exchange for the above training pay, APFA would withdraw the following proposals:
    • Dual Qualified Pay Override
    • Restoration of Foreign Language Pay
    • Narrow-Body lead Pay
    • AMR Event Reporting
  • In addition, APFA would accept the company’s following proposals as previously proposed on 5/21/10:
    • Galley Pay
    • Purser Pay

 

Pay Rates and Monthly Schedule Max

American has offered structural pay increases in return for a more competitive monthly schedule max. Here's a look at our proposed moves in these areas.

 

1/WN schedule max is 130 Trips for Pay (TFP). A factor of 0.88 was applied to convert to 114 hours.
